There Is A Reason Why…[sigh]…Nevermind

We need more geniuses like this to solve the world’s problem…

Wow, Really?…

Philosophy Of Parenthood

October 24, 2008

“When you have a boy, you have to worry about one boy on the planet. When you have a girl, you have to worry about every boy on the planet.”

I don’t remember where I read this but at this moment it is not very encouraging. I guess I would seriously consider my friend’s Pete offer to go shotgun shopping :-)

Two Lines…

October 23, 2008

I know this picture might be a little gross, but 10 months ago my wife left this note for me in the bathroom, it was shocking to see it and put two and two together, it took me a while to really understand what was going on.

It has been a very interesting 10 months and I don’t know if I would like to go through such an experience again, however, on Monday the 20th of October Jannike Laurie Campero was born and that was such a cool thing to be a part of.

Now the realization of having a girl is settling in and I look forward to scaring away all those punks who think they are good enough for her, I’m already researching enollment information for a few monasteries, any suggestions?

This is Jannike, I know, I know, she is beautiful, of course she is, what did you expect? She even has her own photoblog at Jannikecampero.com go ahead and check it out. My goal is to post at least one photo a day…easier said that done.

The Funny Side Of Politics

October 17, 2008

Watch John McCain and Barack Obama at a charity dinner where it is the custom for presidential candidates to be featured as headliners during election year. I wished they all had this sense of humor all the time, it’s awesome to see (although scripted) this other side of them, it feels more personal. Plus I have to admit, I think McCain was funnier…enjoy

YES! Yesterday’s Bread [So Exciting]

October 16, 2008

“YES! We have yesterday’s bread” That’s first thing I noticed when I walked into Milio’s today for lunch, I couldn’t help laughing, I thought it was hilarious, the sign sounds like “Yes, you’ve found what you’ve been looking for!” However, at the same time there is so much that can be said about it:

  • Are these economic times that tough that people is buying yesterday’s bread for 65 cents?
  • Why would anyone buy yesterday’s bread? If is not fresh enough for Milio’s to make sandwich what else is it good for?
  • 65 cents for two feet of bread is not a bad deal at all…I would buy it all everyday and donate it to the food shelf, why don’t they do that?
  • Does Subway or any other sandwich restaurant do the same? First time I see this. Maybe Milio’s needs to figure out how to make just enough bread to meet their demand.
  • I’m still laughing about the sign, I think it’s funny how they make it sound like something really exciting, like “You won’t believe your eyes, we have yesterday’s bread…whooohooo!!”

What do you think? Would you buy yesterday’s bread? Do you really like deli bread that much? Is this a regular practice at all Milio’s restaurants or just the one in Oakdale?

Imagine one day you go to the supermarket and there is a sign that says “YES! We have expired food” or you go to McDonald’s and a sign says “YES! We have yesterday’s french fries!” or Starbucks “YES! We have old coffee!”…tough times coming ahead my friends, tough times.

Genius Robs Bank

October 15, 2008

I don’t condone crime but dumb criminals make me cringe, you know, the kind that are so stupid that one just wonders what was crossing their mind at the moment.

On the other hand, there are some that are so smart that one must give it to them. That’s the case of this dude who robbed a bank using decoys he hired through Craigslist. Basically, he made everyone show up at the bank around the time of the robbery wearing the same kind of clothes he was going to wear while he robbed the bank; the police must have been distracted pretty darn good because the robber got away…check this out…sailing down the river on a inner tube…you read that right, an inner tube! if you are able to rob a bank and distract police so that you get away swimming in the river with an inner tube you are a local hero in the making.

“…around 11:00 a.m. PDT on Tuesday, the robber, wearing a yellow vest, safety goggles, a blue shirt, and a respirator mask went over to a guard who was overseeing the unloading of cash to the bank from the truck. He sprayed the guard with pepper spray, grabbed his bag of money, and fled the scene.

The robber had previously put out a Craigslist ad for road maintenance workers, promising wages of $28.50 per hour. Recruits were asked to wait near the Bank of America right around the time of the robbery–wearing yellow vests, safety goggles, a respirator mask, and preferably a blue shirt. At least a dozen of them showed up after responding to the Craigslist ad…”

Just for being able to pull it off this dude deserves to be forgiven of his crime and keep the money, hey if the guy from Catch Me If You Can did it, why not this guy?, that would be awesome.
